Is It Friday Yet?

* This disclosure is to keep me in Mrs. Darling's good graces. I didn't get this photo off someone's website or blog. It was e-mailed to me from a couple of different sources! :o)

Questions That Haunt You

A friend sent this to me in an e-mail, and I just had to share it!

__________________________

Can you cry under water?

How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?

What disease did cured ham actually have?

How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered?

Why do you have to "put your two cents in", but it's only a "penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going to?

Once you're in heaven, do you get stuck wearing the clothes you were buried in for eternity?

If a deaf person has to go to court, is it still called a hearing?

Why are you IN a movie, but you're ON T.V.?

Why do doctors leave the room when you change? They're going to see you naked anyway.

Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him for a car ride, he sticks his head out the window?

Why is "bra" singular and "panties" is plural?

Why to toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp, which no decent human being would eat?

If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why is there a stupid song about him?

Can a hearse carrying a corpse drive in the carpool lane?

If the professor on Gilligan's Island can make a radio out of a coconut, why can't he fix a hole in a boat?

Why does Goofy stand erect while Pluto remains on all fours? They're both dogs!

Why do they call it an asteroid when it's outside the hemisphere, but call it a hemorrhoid when it's in your butt?

If Wile E. Coyote had enough money to buy all that ACME junk, why didn't he just buy dinner?

If corn oil is made from corn, and vegetable oil is made from vegetables, what is baby oil made from?

If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons?

Does the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same tune?

Why did you just try singing the two songs above?

Why does a round pizza come in a square box?

Why is it that people say they "slept like a baby" when babies wake up like every two hours?

Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?

Sometimes Life Ain't So Grand

It's only September, and already the "bug" and flu viruses are flying around. First, our youngest had it. Then me. Then our oldest. Now hubby. What is "it"? Sore throat, sinus congestion, runny noses, fevers...ugh.

It's a real pharmacy around our house. Keep the ibuprofen, cough drops, cough syrup, and Benadryl flowing! I'm Dr. Mom (and wife) right now. Thus, this is about as good as it's going to get for a post from me. Stay tuned, and keep us all in your prayers!

It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

The Kansas State Fair, held annually in Hutchinson, begins soon. Right now, all the entries are being lined up, and the crews are gearing up for the big week. The pumpkin contest is always a big deal. I remember growing some for our local contest when I was a kid. I did have a pretty big one, that it took a couple of guys to pick up. But it was nothing compared to the new champion for this year's Kansas State Fair! The number you see in the picture? That's the weight of that gourd! (check out the Wichita Eagle's story here) This is one great pumpkin that will definitely NOT be flying over the patch on Oct. 31st, Linus!

You Can Pray for Me

This coming Friday (Sept. 7) is the big day. I leave early early early (okay, it's not that early) Friday morning to fly to our niece's wedding. I fly back Sunday. Keep me in your prayers, friends!
