Just a little of this and that...things I have run across...and a few things that have run across me!

That Song Is Stuck in My Head!
This past weekend, the Akron Beacon Journal ran a feature story in their entertainment section called, "Shame That Tune." The premise was that most of us have some song (or multiple songs) that set our feet to dancing or our fingers to tapping--even if they were lame or annoying songs. (Read: "Come On Get Happy" by the Partridge Family.)
My husband and I had fun naming songs that we knew lyrics to, or that had memories for us, that really weren't great songs, but were just part of our history. Or songs that reminded us of events in our lives.
So I'm curious...what songs bring back memories for you? What oldies remind you of good/happy/bad/sad times in your life? I look forward to hearing your memories!

I have so many songs I dont know where to begin. Some of my favorite are the old school songs like Come little Leaves said the wind one day, or Apples yellow, pumpkins mellow.
Music is a big part of my life. In my teenage years I would have paid a million dollars to go to Philadelphia and be on American Bandstand! One song that comes to mind as an annoyance/good song is Help Me Rhonda by the Beach Boys. It's an annoyance because I have no idea what they're saying and I don't think anyone else does either, but as they used to say on Bandstand, "it has a good beat and it's easy to dance to"!
Here's an annoying song:
"This is a song that never ends,it just goes on and on my friends. Some people started singing it not knowing what it was. And the'll just keep on singing it forever just because, this is a song that never ends..."
Harry's song that he mentioned got me pulled over the other day. I was teaching it to my girls in the car Saturday. I was not paying attention to the stop sign that I rolled through and I got pulled over by the police. The very kind police officer just gave me a warning. That song will bring a whole new memory for me from now on.
Anything by Martha Reeves and the Vandellas because I portrayed Martha in a college musical. The experience was surreal. Everytime I'm tempted to sing karaoke, I first think of "Dancing in the Streets."
"I Never Promised You a Rose Garden"
has to rank up there with all of those. Or that old country song, "Just a Swingin'". And what about "Achy Breaky Heart"? Ahhhh!
